Parking row led man to throw industrial paint over home
In a Dublin Circuit Criminal Court hearing, Leroy Farrelly, 46, pleaded guilty to criminal damage after throwing industrial paint over a house on Clonliffe Road, an act triggered by a parking dispute. CCTV footage captured on CrimeCall identified him. The homeowners, who had no connection to Farrelly, suffered €18,300 in removal costs and expressed fear and distress. Farrelly, with four prior convictions, was given a three‑year suspended sentence by Judge Martin Nolan, who noted the victims' significant suffering and Farrelly's remorse. He was ordered to offer €2,200 to the victim and had 12 months to raise an additional €7,800 if desired. The judge highlighted Farrelly's responsibilities as a husband and father, and his efforts to address underlying issues through counselling.
