At the sentence hearing today at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, Judge Mary Ellen Ring noted that Sheridan seemed to have "grown up since the date of the offence." She further noted that Sheridan had not come to garda attention since, but said she couldn't overlook the seriousness of the crime. She suspended the sentence for three years but warned Sheridan he must have no contact with the injured party, including through social media.
