A Cavan man was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court on charges relating to the death of his wife in 2013. Oliver Kierans, aged 57, of Drumbannon, Bailieboro, pleaded not guilty to murdering Patricia Kierans on 5 September 2013 at their home address. He also entered not guilty pleas to unlawful possession of a 12-gauge double-barrel shotgun and to intent to endanger life with the same firearm.
