A prosecution witness told the Central Criminal Court that she wrote to the late Mr Justice Paul Carney claiming a convicted killer had pressured her into making false allegations against the accused, the jury heard. Michael Kinsella, aged 22, with addresses in Tallaght and Cavan, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Adil Essalhi on 6 January 2011. His uncle Wayne Kinsella was convicted of the killing in 2012. The prosecution contends that two people carried out the murder. The witness said Michael Kinsella was present with Wayne Kinsella when the latter returned to their shared Tyrrellstown apartment on 7 January carrying petrol. Under cross-examination, the defence highlighted that the witness had previously written to the judge stating Wayne Kinsella had forced residents to provide false evidence against Michael Kinsella as revenge. The defence suggested this indicated she would not fabricate testimony against the accused. The trial continues at the Central Criminal Court.
