Strokestown eviction case won't be heard before end of term

A High Court application by KBC bank for an injunction requiring three siblings to vacate their family home near Strokestown in County Roscommon will not be heard before the end of the current legal term. KBC seeks an order requiring Michael Anthony, David and Geraldine McGann to leave their property at Falsk. During a brief mention before Ms Justice Leonie Reynolds on Thursday, counsel for KBC requested a hearing date later in July, estimating half a day would be required. However, counsel for David and Geraldine McGann indicated the matter would require longer, and that a related action brought by David McGann should be heard simultaneously. David McGann's proceedings challenge the validity of the possession order obtained by KBC and seek orders preventing interference with the property. Ms Justice Reynolds adjourned the matter to the next legal term, citing difficulty in securing judicial time, and granted permission to consolidate both cases. The McGann family were evicted from the farm in December 2018 following a repossession order KBC obtained years earlier.
