A mother from Kingscourt, County Cavan, has obtained High Court orders restraining former journalist Gemma O'Doherty from harassing her following the death of her teenage son. Mr Justice Conor Dignam granted the injunctions on Friday in favour of Edel Campbell, who alleges Ms O'Doherty unlawfully published an image of her late son Diego Gilsenan in an article linking unexplained deaths to Covid-19 vaccination. The orders prohibit Ms O'Doherty from harassing Ms Campbell, publishing images of her or her son, or encouraging others to intimidate the plaintiff. Ms O'Doherty must also remove any such material from media she owns or operates. The judge noted evidence of allegedly harassing online comments and lectures by Ms O'Doherty, and found Ms Campbell had established a strong case of harassment. The injunctions remain in place pending the full hearing of Ms Campbell's action against Ms O'Doherty, trading as The Irish Light. The defendant was not represented at Friday's hearing.
