Man cleared of Peter Gunn murder but guilty of impeding
Summary
A 33‑year‑old Dublin man, Alan Harte, was found not guilty of murdering his friend Peter Gunn, a 28‑year‑old who was stabbed to death in 2009. Harte was convicted of impeding the prosecution after he admitted helping to dispose of Gunn's body at Dunsoughly Lane. The trial, held at the Central Criminal Court, heard that Harte, Gunn and two other friends had been drinking in a pub before going to a flat in Cabra Park where the murder took place. Harte claimed that Kastriot Boza, who was also present, stabbed Gunn and forced Harte to help hide the body. Boza was later jailed for four years for impeding the prosecution, while Harte was remanded for sentencing on 19 May. The jury deliberated for just over two hours before reaching a unanimous verdict of not guilty of murder but guilty of impeding the prosecution. The case was heard in the Central Criminal Court.
