Summary
Paul Molloy, 41, of Cabra, was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for possessing €34,752 of cannabis resin, about 5.8 kg, for sale or supply. He admitted the drugs were stored in a locked shed at his mother's home and that he had sold them to support his family after losing his job as a dump truck driver. Molloy had previously been caught with €12,000 of cocaine in 2007 and served a three‑year sentence in 2008. He pleaded guilty, acknowledging he was a drug dealer and that he was not a drug user. The judge, refusing to suspend any part of the sentence, noted his prior conviction and the fact that he had returned to the same position in 2013. The court found no mitigating circumstances and imposed the full custodial term.
