She told the court she sold cannabis to friends to fund her daily habit. A psychotherapist testified that Maguire, who suffers from Crohn's disease, was engaging well with addiction therapy. Defence counsel noted her significant rehabilitation and current drug-free status. Judge Terence O'Sullivan found that while Maguire was not a big-time dealer, she was in breach of the law. He sentenced her to two years, fully suspended for two years.
