Court Appearance: Operation Targeting Organised Criminal Activity, Galway City, 26th August 2026

On 26 August 2026, Gardaí conducted an operation in Galway City as part of ongoing investigations into organised criminal activity. Search warrants were executed at two properties, resulting in the seizure of €9,300 in cash, €9,000 worth of amphetamine, and €9,300 worth of cannabis. Two cryptocurrency accounts valued at approximately $900,000 and a bank account containing €25,000 were frozen. A male in his 40s was arrested and charged under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He is scheduled to appear before Galway District Court on 27 August 2026 at 11am. The drugs are being analysed by FSI. Investigations are ongoing.
