Five charged after gathering with HGVs and tractors on Grand Parade

Cork City, Co. Cork · Garda release issued

Five people were arrested and later charged under public order law after a gathering on Grand Parade in Cork city centre, joined by several HGVs and tractors, on Sunday 12 April 2026.

Gardaí were called shortly after 11am. The group grew quickly and the lorries and tractors moved slowly through the city centre for a time before the drivers agreed to leave.

Directions were issued under the Public Order Act telling people to leave the roadway, and some did not comply. Four men and a woman were arrested, released from a city Garda station and charged to appear before Cork District Court at a later date.

The rest of the crowd left peacefully and nobody was injured.
