Mallow, Co. Cork · Garda release issued

Gardaí in Mallow are investigating a murder after the body of a man in his 50s was found on the banks of the River Blackwater at Ballyellis, on the edge of Mallow town, at about 1.30pm on Thursday 15 October 2026.

The man has been identified. A post-mortem examination was carried out by the State Pathologist, but the results have not been released for operational reasons. An incident room has been set up at Mallow Garda Station.
