The Labour Court rejected a temporary Environmental Health Officer’s appeal concerning pay increments, pension access, promotion opportunities and uncertified sick leave at the Eastern Health Board. The decision was dated 12 April 2000. The Court was satisfied that the Board had taken the necessary steps to consider waiving the open-competition requirement, but found it was not feasible to comply with the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation under the arrangements for permanent appointments.
