The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s £750 recommendation after the worker appealed the unfair-dismissal recommendation in her dispute with Eco Community. The decision was dated 12 April 2001. The worker, who had been dismissed from a Community Employment Scheme, said she was involved in a brief altercation with a co-worker after he made unacceptable remarks. She said she had received no warnings. Eco Community said her behaviour could not be tolerated and declined to attend the Labour Court hearing, though it sent a letter. The Court found the recommendation reasonable and upheld it.
