Labour Court upholds DHL productivity-target decision on worker’s appeal

By Niamh Kearney

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation and rejected a worker’s appeal over delayed changes to his productivity targets at DHL Express (Ireland) Limited. The decision was dated 13 April 2006. The union appealed on the worker’s behalf, seeking €1,100 for alleged lost earnings after revised targets took effect in February 2004. DHL said the worker had earned €460 during the initial target period and had appealed before completing a trial of the targets. The Court found the original recommendation reasonable and rejected the appeal.
