The Labour Court directed O’BRIENS IRISH SANDWICH BAR to pay a worker an additional €38 for a day’s trial work, varying a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation. The decision was signed on 24 May 2006. The worker said she had been unfairly dismissed after working for 2⅔ hours and had received no notice. The company said she understood it was a trial day and was told she was unsuitable for employment. The Court concluded she should receive a full day’s pay.
