The Labour Court dismissed a worker’s appeal over an investigation into bullying and harassment at Brothers of Charity Services, Galway. In its decision dated 20 June 2014, it affirmed the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation after finding the worker had not shown grounds to set aside the agreed investigator’s findings. The worker argued that the investigation was flawed and had halted his career progression. Brothers of Charity Services rejected the allegations and said the investigator’s report was comprehensive. The Court’s decision addressed whether the recommendation should be set aside; it did not decide whether bullying or harassment occurred.
