The Labour Court rejected Donegal Meat Processors T/A Foyle Donegal’s appeal, leaving in place a recommendation to reduce a worker’s final written warning to a written warning. The decision was signed on 13 October 2014. The company said the worker twice failed to phone before returning to work, contrary to its attendance policy, and that the final written warning was proportionate. The union said the worker understood and followed the policy and that the recommendation was fair. The Court agreed with the Rights Commissioner’s findings and recommendation.
