The Labour Court set aside by agreement a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation on an unnamed Arklow Home Help Services Limited worker’s sick-pay claim. The decision was signed on 30 October 2014. The recommendation concerned sick pay for certified leave from June to November 2013 under a collective agreement. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the worker was entitled to 12 weeks’ sick pay in line with HSE employees; the employer said she had been paid under her terms and conditions. The Court set the recommendation aside after the parties agreed to do so.
