The Labour Court upheld a recommendation that a worker at Neville Hotels Limited T/A Royal Marine Hotel had been offered suitable alternative employment and was not entitled to redundancy. Her appeal failed. The decision was signed on 10 June 2015. The worker’s laundry job ended after the hotel outsourced the service. She argued that the alternative work was unsuitable because of her limited English. The hotel said it offered other roles on the same terms and conditions, with training and support. She chose a breakfast-time role in food and beverage.
