The Labour Court rejected the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union’s appeal, leaving in place a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation of three days’ paid leave for a worker at Packard Electric Ireland. The decision was dated 20 February 1992. The union sought compensation, saying the worker’s assembly station was overloaded by two hours a day from October 1990 to February 1991. Packard Electric Ireland denied overworking, though it accepted that the station was over-demanding for six weeks. The Court decided that the recommendation of three days’ paid leave in full and final settlement should stand.
