In 1993, the Labour Court rejected Time Packaging’s appeal and upheld a recommendation allowing five workers to opt out of a 1991 agreement’s requirement for payment by cheque or credit transfer. The decision was dated 23 February 1993. The dispute concerned whether the workers could return to cash wages under a 1985 agreement. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) said they had exercised that right while the 1991 agreement was being discussed. The Court agreed.
