In 1993, the Labour Court recommended that Kehoe Crane Hire pay £300 immediately and £60 a month until the remaining £900 in redundancy compensation was paid. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had appealed the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation for monthly payments. The company said it was in a poor financial position and had tried to obtain the worker’s bank details; the Union argued its finances were better than claimed. The Court noted that the company accepted the recommendation and had been prepared to implement it. The decision was dated 24 June 1993.
