WRC adjudication officer Gaye Cunningham found Christina Malone entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum and two weeks’ minimum notice pay, totalling €1,420.65. The decision was dated 8 April 2016. Malone said she had asked former employer Noel Carew, trading as Carew Catering, for her redundancy payment and sent him an RP77 form, but received no reply. Carew said the business had closed because of lack of trade and he had no funds to pay redundancy. The officer recorded Malone’s gross weekly wage as €129.15 and found she was in insurable employment on 26 October 2013.
