The WRC made no recommendation in favour of a worker who challenged her redundancy under the Haddington Road Agreement. The decision was dated 25 October 2016. The worker said the agreement provided for no compulsory redundancy and that no existing exit provision applied to her. The employer argued that it had made staff in several categories, including part-time and temporary staff, redundant before the agreement. The adjudication officer accepted the employer’s submission that existing exit provisions were in place and applied. The worker’s claim therefore did not result in a recommendation in her favour.
