WRC rejects customer’s disability complaint over crowded bus

By Tadhg O'Sullivan

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC rejected a customer’s disability discrimination and harassment complaint after a driver asked her to leave a crowded bus. The decision was dated 10 November 2016.

The bus company said the first bus was full and that another bus would arrive shortly with room for her. The adjudication officer found the company’s priority for prepaid commuters was justified and applied impartially. He said the following bus would have accepted her free travel pass and taken her to her appointment on time. He did not find discrimination or harassment.
