A supervisor who took over a food store after it closed was found entitled to a statutory redundancy payment by the WRC. The decision was dated 16 November 2016. She said she had worked there since October 2010 and was unable to secure the store’s signature on her redundancy form after it shut. The adjudication officer found the store had ceased trading and that she qualified for a payment based on gross weekly pay of €397.79, subject to her having been in insurable employment. She later took on the shop’s lease and relaunched the business.
