The WRC found that a community centre manager was entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum after her working hours were cut from 30 to 17.5 a week. The decision was dated 25 November 2016. The sum was based on her employment dates and gross weekly pay of €576.90. The adjudicator found the reduction was a significant change to the employment contract, its duration was unclear and the contract had no short-time or lay-off clause. The unfair dismissal claim was no longer valid after the redundancy complaint was upheld.
