The WRC found that a hotel security operative was fairly dismissed after allowing a guest to view CCTV footage of an intimate incident. The decision was dated 5 May 2017.
The operative said he showed the footage because the guest was concerned she might have suffered a more serious assault and could not remember the incident. The hotel argued that his conduct breached security procedures and amounted to gross misconduct. The adjudicator found the disciplinary procedure fair and concluded the hotel’s decision was reasonable, despite the supervisor receiving a final written warning.
