A veterinary nurse received €4,000 after the WRC upheld her constructive unfair dismissal complaint, finding she acted reasonably in resigning amid treatment concerns and limited grievance procedures. In a decision dated 8 February 2018, the WRC also awarded her €1,000 for missed breaks and €500 for breaches of employment information requirements. The veterinary practice accepted that breaks were sometimes missed, and the officer found required breaks were often not provided. The nurse had claimed €15,090 in losses from her dismissal. The officer reduced the compensation to €4,000 because she had not provided evidence of sufficient efforts to find work and limit her losses.
