Care agency ordered to pay carer €230.28 in minimum notice case

By Rory Hanlon

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission ordered a care agency to pay a carer €230.28 for four weeks’ minimum notice. The decision was dated 24 April 2017. The carer’s redundancy complaint failed. The adjudication officer found she had declined offered work and provided care privately, so her circumstances did not amount to a genuine redundancy. The officer also found that her employment ended without minimum notice and that she was entitled to four weeks’ wages.
