The WRC awarded a head chef €4,519 for unpaid overtime, missed breaks and other employment claims after the food services company failed to attend the hearing. Its decision was dated 25 July 2017. The chef said he received no new written terms after his promotion and was owed annual leave, public-holiday pay and €1,019 in overtime. The WRC accepted his uncontested evidence and awarded €1,000 for missing written terms, €1,000 for inadequate breaks, €500 for public holidays, €1,000 for annual leave and €1,019 for overtime. His separate Industrial Relations Act claim was withdrawn.
