A Graphic Designer’s health and safety penalisation complaint against a Print Company was not well founded, the WRC finding he had not proved that his fixed-term contract resulted from an earlier safety complaint. The decision was dated 8 May 2017. The officer considered three written complaints: one made before the designer began working for the company, one in July 2014, and another after he had been told in January 2016 that he would be offered a fixed-term contract. The officer found the last complaint could not have caused that decision. The July 2014 complaint was the only one relevant to whether the contract decision was penalisation, but the time between it and the decision weakened the link. The complaint failed.
