The WRC rejected a tyre fitter’s health and safety penalisation and disability discrimination complaints against a tyre company. The decision was dated 25 September 2017. The fitter said a car lift injured his hand and that he was dismissed for raising safety concerns. The adjudication officer found that the lift was certified safe and the evidence did not establish that the fitter had continued to raise concerns or was dismissed for doing so. The officer also found he had returned certified fit for work and did not have a disability under the test applied.
