WRC finds three employment complaints were statute-barred

By Niamh Kearney

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC found three employment complaints were statute-barred in a decision dated 4 April 2018. They concerned contract information, alleged gender pay discrimination and minimum wage claims. The contract claim related to work arranged through an agency in 2006. The employee received a contract from the company when directly employed in 2017 but refused to sign it. The adjudicator found the company was not the employer at the time of the alleged discrimination and minimum wage breaches, which related to 2006, 2011 and 2012. All three claims were filed in 2016 and found statute-barred.
