The WRC dismissed a prospective tenant’s Equal Status complaint after she did not attend the hearing. The decision, dated 24 April 2017, says the complaint fell for want of prosecution; the merits were not decided.
The letting agent attended and was ready to contest the claim. The adjudication officer said the complainant had been notified of the hearing, but she offered no reasonable explanation for not attending.
The complaint concerned the Equal Status Act, 2000. It was referred to the WRC in July 2016 and heard in Dublin in December that year.
