The WRC found that a former sales assistant was entitled to statutory redundancy and minimum notice after her employer, a ladies fashion retailer, went into liquidation. The decision was dated 21 August 2017. Her working-time complaint was withdrawn. The company did not attend the hearing. The WRC accepted the uncontested evidence and extended the time limit for the minimum-notice complaint by six months because the delay was due to litigation involving the company’s former directors. The assistant worked for the retailer from July 2010 until October 2015, when the company went into liquidation.
