The WRC dismissed a healthcare assistant’s unfair dismissal claim against a hospital as out of time. The decision was dated 4 July 2017; the merits were not decided. The assistant said she was unfairly retired after an accident at work and sought more time to lodge her claim. The hospital argued that she had accepted ill health early retirement on 29 May 2015. The officer found she could have lodged the claim by 28 November 2015 and had no reasonable grounds for extending the deadline to 26 May 2016.
