The WRC ordered a restaurant to pay a waitress €3,869.20 in redundancy compensation after the business closed in a fire. The decision was dated 25 April 2017. The waitress also succeeded in claims for unpaid final-week wages, annual leave, public holidays and minimum notice. The restaurant did not attend the hearing, and the adjudicator accepted her evidence as uncontested. The WRC ordered the restaurant to pay €170 for wages, €176.80 for annual leave, €510 for public holidays and €1,020 for minimum notice, all within six weeks.
