The WRC awarded a night shift manager €3,381.69 after upholding his constructive unfair-dismissal complaint against a retail supermarket in a decision dated 20 November 2017. The officer found that the supermarket failed to investigate some grievances adequately and did not allow appeals, undermining the worker’s confidence in the process and leading to his resignation. The worker was also entitled to payment for 22.5 days of annual leave and for the October 2015 public holiday. The supermarket was directed to pay those entitlements within 42 days.
