WRC orders health service to pay pharmacist €700 over annual-leave deductions

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC ordered a health service to pay a pharmacist €700 for annual-leave deductions and change how Sunday and bank-holiday premium hours are counted in future leave calculations. The decision was dated 20 July 2017. The health service accepted a disparity in how the pharmacist’s annual leave was calculated compared with colleagues doing comparable work in another region. The adjudication officer found the complaint well founded and directed that half of Sunday premium hours paid but not worked be included in future calculations, with the same method applying to bank holidays.
