A child minder was awarded €1,444 under minimum wage law after a WRC adjudication officer found she had been underpaid. The decision was dated 7 November 2017. She said she worked up to 54 hours a week for €150, with board and lodging. Her domestic employers attended the hearing but declined to give evidence. The officer valued her bed and three meals at €140 a week and found a minimum wage shortfall of €76 a week. The WRC also awarded €200 for missing written employment terms, €510 for withheld wages, €100 for missed breaks, €300 for excessive hours and €100 for holiday pay.
