The Workplace Relations Commission struck out a kitchen porter’s proceedings after he did not attend the hearing. In a decision dated 11 May 2017, the WRC said he had been notified of the hearing and that the respondent, a restaurant, attended and sought to strike out the case. The proceedings included an Industrial Relations Act dispute and an unfair dismissal claim. The complainant failed to turn up to make his case; the merits were not decided.
