The WRC found a security officer’s unfair dismissal complaint against a security company not well founded, concluding that he remained employed. The decision was dated 30 August 2017. The worker said he was removed from two client sites, received no further shifts and considered himself dismissed from 17 June 2016. The company said he was on lay-off under his contract, had been offered work in Dublin which he declined, and might receive work in Galway. The adjudication officer found that the worker had contributed to the impasse and had not met the high burden for constructive dismissal. The complaint failed on its merits.
