The WRC found a teacher’s equality complaint was brought outside the time limit and was not properly before the adjudicator; the merits were not decided. The decision was dated 14 June 2017. The teacher said the last alleged breach occurred on 15 June 2015 and filed her complaint on 9 June 2016. The adjudicator gave her three working weeks to explain the delay. She said she could no longer afford legal representation; he noted her access to a trade union, a TD and public bodies that advise employees on employment law, and found no causal link between her illness and missing the six-month deadline.
