The Workplace Relations Commission awarded a former HR officer €2,000 after a university failed to tell her about vacancies that could lead to permanent work. The decision, dated 23 October 2017, also rejected her separate complaint of family-status discrimination. The complainant said she learned of three vacancies through a contact while she was on maternity leave. The university said she had never been its employee. The WRC found it was the successor to her former employer and responsible for informing her about relevant vacancies, but found no sufficient link between her treatment and her family status.
