WRC grants bookkeeper redundancy lump sum

By Gráinne Nolan

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC found that a bookkeeper was entitled to a redundancy lump sum after decades working for an accountancy services provider. The decision was dated 26 April 2017. The adjudication officer said the first 26 weeks of the bookkeeper’s sick leave in 2015 counted as reckonable service. The entitlement was calculated using her start and end dates and weekly gross pay of €188.30, subject to her having been in insurable employment under the Social Welfare Acts. The provider did not attend the hearing.
