The Workplace Relations Commission recommended a fair pay review for a house manager in a dispute with an entertainment company, in a recommendation dated 18 December 2017. WRC adjudication officer Aideen Collard heard the dispute. The worker, who had been employed since 1998, said her pay should be reviewed against managers with similar roles and service. The company accepted that she was entitled to a review but said the branch where she worked ran at a significant loss. The adjudication officer also recommended that the worker keep her existing reporting line and that the company manage her sick leave proactively. If the outstanding issues were not resolved within 42 days, the officer recommended appointing an independent mediator.
