The WRC recommended that a care worker accept the outcome of a joint review into allegations against him. The decision, dated 27 September 2017, concerned the employer’s use of the counselling stage of its disciplinary procedure after the review upheld one allegation and did not uphold four others. The adjudicator said the parties had agreed to the joint review as a remedy for flaws in the initial investigation, found the review was not perverse and considered the employer reasonable in accepting its outcome. The adjudicator did not uphold the worker’s complaint.
