WRC dismisses retail manager’s discrimination and wages complaints; two claims withdrawn

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC dismissed a retail manager’s disability discrimination and wages complaints after a dispute over whether she would take responsibility for two stores. The decision, dated 8 February 2018, found no disability discrimination and said the evidence did not support her harassment complaint. The manager said she was prevented from returning to work after being certified fit unless she accepted changed work-location terms. The supermarket chain said the dispute concerned her contract and work locations, and that she had exhausted her sick-pay entitlement. The WRC also rejected her reasonable-accommodation complaint, finding that no disability discrimination had been established. She withdrew her gender and age discrimination complaints at the hearing.
